Onboarding Process

Thank you for registering with Orbital for your CIS sole trader payments and just to confirm our earlier conversation, we have established with your agency/end client and yourself that on this assignment you are not under Supervision, Direction & Control (or the right of) in the manner of how you perform your duties.

As a self-employed sub-contractor under CIS, we will verify your UTR number with HMRC to match up against your records and deduct the standard rate of 20% tax, or if not matched up, then the higher tax rate of 30% will apply. We will pay deductions of tax over to HMRC on your behalf.

You will be responsible for paying your Class 2 NI contributions directly to HMRC which can be done via Direct Debit and you will also be responsible for submitting a self-assessment or tax return, at tax year end.

Contractual terms

You are engaged on a contract for services, we refer you to these terms (see attachments) as these will apply at all times on your self-employed engagement.

Please be aware that the terms of self-employment mean that you are NOT entitled to any employment benefits including:

• Holiday pay
• SSP
• Pension
  

IMPORTANT: If you feel that your employment status should not be self-employed in your current role and/or you are under the wrong pay model, please notify your agency/end client and ourselves immediately.

Payments to your account

• The main payment day is Friday and although most payments will clear by Friday morning we cannot guarantee an exact time up to close of business.
• What time your payment clears could depend on when we have received instruction from your agency/client.

NOTE: If you receive an SMS text message with your pay amount, it means that your wage has been processed and on it's way to your account.

Key Information Document (KID)

Part of the Good Work Plan, a KID gives you a breakdown of your potential earnings and all relevant deductions. This should be provided by your agency/client engager upon each assignment. Ask us for more details: info@orbitalservices.co.uk

What we will send you:

• Information Documents (linked below) - to explain your engagement in more detail for you.
• Payslip Portal Login - this will allow you to view your historical payslips and Payslip Buddy – Access your PB account for a payslip compliance report and income breakdown. (Ask us for more details)
• Registration Pack* - You need to check and sign the terms you are engaged on and any relating documents.
• Digital RTW in the UK check* - We will send you a link to upload your RTW document and complete a 'liveness' check. This link will expire after 3 days! Share Code checks are separate. *Not submitting these documents will delay payment of your wages
