Orbital CIS is the compliant and reliable payroll solution for genuine self-employed contractors working within the construction/rail industry.
We offer a straightforward service that benefits the contractor by taking away the business related worry and hassle of invoicing, chasing up payments and dealing with HMRC tax requirements and related paperwork.
We apply a clear-cut approach to our methods, which means that we are always willing to explain and demonstrate the way we work whilst being flexible at all times e.g. we offer advances for late instructions submitted, to make sure contractors are paid every week even if missing the initial pay run.
Our CIS payroll fees are:
£5 for earnings up to £99 Gross
£11 for earnings £100 - £299 Gross
£15 for earnings above £300+ Gross
Due to new changes to the system in April 2007, registration with HMRC is required in order to obtain a Unique Tax Reference (UTR) number, which, once activated, means a standard deduction of 20% tax from gross earnings.
In order for you to be paid by us, we would require our registration form and self-employed declaration to be completed and sent back along with Eligibility to Work in the UK documents (e.g. copy of passport). We would also require your gross earnings amount details sending from your agency or company contractor each week, on which we will produce an invoice on your behalf.
We, like any other contractor, are obliged to 'verify' any new worker with HMRC before their first payment. However, if you are waiting on your UTR number arriving before your first payment, your tax deduction status will be 30% (Higher rate) until your records are matched up. Any difference in payments made at the higher rate, are then reimbursed at the end of the tax year by the Inland Revenue.
